The Senci SC10000-II is a large petrol generator built for heavy loads. The distributor lists 7.50 kW continuous output and 8.50 kW maximum, a 25-litre fuel tank and a run time of 12 hours1. It starts by key from an onboard 12V battery or by recoil pull cord, and it comes with a wheel kit and carry handle to move it1.
That combination of output and bulk tells you who it suits. It is a machine for a household that needs to run several substantial appliances at once, not a grab-and-go unit for a flat. Before you plan around it, check that you can store it safely outdoors, move it on your own ground, and keep it fuelled and maintained. The distributor listed it as out of stock when checked on 29 July 2026, so confirm availability before you build a plan on it1.
This page sets out what the SC10000-II can do, what it weighs and how to move it, how to start it, and how to run and store it safely. For the wider picture, see Backup Power at Home: A Household Guide and Portable Generators: Petrol, Diesel, Dual-Fuel and Inverter Types.
What the SC10000-II is and what it suits
The distributor describes the SC10000-II as a petrol generator, frame mounted and single phase, with a tough and sturdy design built to work hard and provide reliable power1. It is coupled with a Senci alternator with copper windings1. In plain terms, it is a heavy-duty machine on a metal frame, designed to sit outdoors and feed mains appliances through its sockets.
Its output is the headline. Continuous output of 7.50 kW is what it can sustain, and 8.50 kW is the maximum it can reach briefly1. That is a lot of power for a home, and it puts the SC10000-II in a different class from the compact units many households buy. The distributor's guide to suitcase generators notes that compact suitcase generators can weigh from around 10 to 25 kg2. At 98.00kg, the SC10000-II is several times heavier than that class of machine1.
That matters for who it suits. A household that wants to keep a fridge, a freezer, a boiler and some lights going through an evening outage is usually served by a much smaller unit. The SC10000-II suits someone with a genuine need for high continuous output, such as a large property with several circuits to cover, or a workshop or smallholding where substantial equipment has to run. If you are still working out what you need, start with Deciding What to Keep Running When the Mains Fails and What Size Generator Do I Need for a Power Cut?.
It is not an inverter generator. The distributor lists AVR, or automatic voltage regulation, rather than inverter technology1. The difference matters for sensitive electronics, and it is covered below.

The two sockets are worth noting. One is a 16A outlet and one is a 32A outlet, both at 230V1. Plan what plugs into which, and read Extension Leads and Overloading With Backup Kit before you start daisy-chaining leads across a yard.
Output, run time and what it can power

The SC10000-II gives 7.50 kW continuous and 8.50 kW maximum1. Continuous output is the figure to plan around: it is what the machine can hold for a sustained period. Maximum output is a brief ceiling, not a target to run at.
Run time is where the distributor's own page gives two answers. It lists a run time of 12.00 hours1. It also states that run time is between 8 and 12 hours depending on the load applied1. The two figures are not reconciled on the page, so plan on the shorter end when you are drawing heavy loads, and treat 12 hours as the best case on a light load. For more on how load affects endurance, see How Long Will a Generator Run on a Tank of Fuel?.
To put that in context, a smaller petrol generator with a 5-litre tank is described by its maker as running about 6 hours at 500W3. The SC10000-II carries a 25-litre tank and a much larger engine, so it is built for longer sessions at far higher output1. The trade-off is fuel consumption and weight.
What it can power depends on your load, and the honest answer is that you should add up your appliances before you buy. The machine's 7.50 kW continuous rating is high enough for substantial combined loads, but the exact mix is yours to work out. Use Watts, Watt-Hours and Surge Explained to total your appliances, and remember that motors such as fridges and freezers draw a surge at start-up.
Starting it: key or recoil
The SC10000-II offers two ways to start. It has an onboard 12V battery and can be started electrically by key, as well as by recoil1. The distributor lists the starting method simply as electric or recoil1.
The advantage of electric start on a machine this size is straightforward. The distributor's own guidance on generators explains that an electric-start model uses a key or switch, making larger engines easier to operate, and that the battery must be kept charged and maintained, although some models retain a recoil starter as a backup4. The SC10000-II is exactly that pattern: key start for normal use, pull cord as the fallback1.
That means the onboard battery is part of your maintenance routine, not an afterthought. If it goes flat over a long storage period, you are relying on the recoil cord to turn a 459cc engine1. Check the battery before winter and after any long idle period, and follow the maker's instructions for charging it. The distributor's buyer's guide also frames the choice simply as electric or recoil with a pull cord5, which is the decision you are making when you choose this machine over a smaller pull-start unit.
Size, weight and moving it
At 98.00kg, the SC10000-II is a two-person lift at best and a machine to wheel rather than carry1. The distributor supplies it with a wheel kit and carry handle, describing it as portable and easy to move1. Treat that as meaning movable on firm, level ground, not portable in the sense a suitcase generator is.

The distributor's guide to suitcase generators puts compact suitcase generators at around 10 to 25 kg2. The SC10000-II is far beyond that class1. Even products marketed as portable can be heavy in practice: one owner review of a much smaller unit notes that it is just under 25 pounds, which may sound portable, but that as a senior it was somewhat heavy to move6. If a unit of that size can be awkward, plan carefully for 98.00kg.
Practical points follow from the weight and dimensions of 660 x 660 x 720mm1:
- Decide where the generator will stand before it arrives, and make sure the route from storage to that spot is firm and level.
- Keep the wheel kit fitted and use the carry handle for balance, not for lifting the full weight.
- Do not plan to carry it up steps or across soft ground on your own.
- Store it where you can wheel it out without lifting, and where fuel and exhaust are safely away from the house.
For siting and storage, see How to Store a Generator After a Power Cut and Can You Run a Generator Indoors or in a Garage?.
Voltage regulation and sensitive electronics
The SC10000-II has AVR, or automatic voltage regulation, and a 50Hz output1. AVR holds the voltage steadier as the load changes, and 50Hz is the frequency UK mains appliances are built for. That is a reasonable baseline for ordinary household appliances.
It is not the same as an inverter generator. The SC10000-II is listed with an AVR (automatic voltage regulation) alternator with copper windings rather than inverter output1. If you plan to run sensitive electronics such as computers or medical equipment, check the appliance maker's own guidance first, and read Powering CPAP, Oxygen and Other Medical Devices From a Battery if that applies to your household.
The two sockets, one 230V 16A and one 230V 32A1, let you split loads. Keep high-draw appliances on the circuit that suits them, and do not exceed what each outlet and the machine as a whole can take. For the difference between generator types, see Inverter Generator or Open-Frame Generator.
The digital display and the control panel
The distributor says a digital display is featured on the panel and allows the user to keep an eye on the generator usage1. In practice, that is your running check: it lets you see how hard the machine is working so you can spot when you are pushing towards its limits. It does not replace working out your load in advance.
The control panel itself is described as full closed, dustproof and water resistant1. That is a description of the panel's construction. It is not a licence to run the generator in wet weather. Petrol generators must never be used indoors or in a garage, and siting outdoors in the open air is the rule. For weather and siting, see Can You Run a Generator in the Rain? and Generator Safety: Carbon Monoxide, Fuel and Electric Shock.
Safety, fuel and storage
The SC10000-II runs on petrol from a 25-litre tank1. That is a large quantity of fuel to keep, and how much you may store at home is governed by rules you should check before you fill it. See How Much Petrol Can I Store at Home Safely? and Generator Safety: Carbon Monoxide, Fuel and Electric Shock.
The distributor's guidance on electric-start models notes that the battery must be kept charged and maintained4. That applies to the SC10000-II's onboard 12V battery1. Build a routine around it: check the battery before winter, after long storage, and before any period when you might need the machine. The distributor's own winter guidance is a useful prompt, and Backup Power Checks Before Winter sets out the wider routine.
Storage points to plan for:
- Keep the generator outdoors and away from the house, with the exhaust pointing away from doors and windows.
- Store fuel safely and separately, following the storage rules for petrol.
- Keep the wheel kit fitted so the machine can be moved without lifting.
- Check the onboard battery and the recoil starter before you need them.
- Never connect the generator to your home's wiring without proper arrangements. See Connecting a Generator or Battery to Your Home's Wiring.
Support, warranty and availability

The SC10000-II carries a 3 year limited warranty, subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions1. Keep your proof of purchase and read the terms, since a limited warranty will set out what is and is not covered.
Availability is the practical catch. The distributor's product page listed the SC10000-II as out of stock when checked on 29 July 20261. Stock moves, so check the product page directly before you plan around it. If you need backup power sooner, a portable power station can bridge the gap while you wait; see Portable Power Stations: What They Do and How to Choose and Portable Power Station or Petrol Generator for a Power Cut.
