Information, not advice
This site offers general information about emergency preparedness for UK households. It is not medical, legal, financial, electrical safety or other professional advice, and it takes no account of your household or your circumstances. Before you spend money or act on the information, check the details with the service, supplier or adviser concerned. In an emergency, call 999.
Accuracy
We check our content against its sources, but warnings, guidance, schemes and products change often, so a page can fall behind. Every page shows its sources so you can check them yourself. If you spot a mistake, please tell us through the contact page.
Links to other sites
Our links mostly point to the sources we cite. We take no responsibility for the content of other sites, and a link is not an endorsement of the site or its owner.
Copyright and trade marks
The text and illustrations on this site belong to Safe. Prepared. You may quote short extracts if you give a credit and a link to the page. Photographs, logos, product names and trade marks belong to their owners, who are credited where shown. They appear to identify products and companies and to comment on them, and their use does not mean the owners endorse Safe. Prepared.
Using the site
Please do not copy the site in bulk, use it unlawfully, or try to disrupt it. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site without notice.
Liability
The site is free and provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we accept no liability for any loss arising from using or relying on it. Nothing here limits any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.
