B&Q GoodHome Saturnia electric blanket recalled over fire and electric shock risk

The Office for Product Safety and Standards published a product recall on 15 December 2025 for the B&Q GoodHome Saturnia electric blanket, which presents a risk of fire and electric shock1. The recall from end users was carried out by Kingfisher International Products Limited, and the alert was notified by Local Authority Trading Standards1.

The fault identified is that an electric component can overheat. The notice states that if the controller overheats and melts, live parts may become exposed, which could lead to the user receiving an electric shock, and that the product or surrounding furniture could overheat and catch fire1. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 20161.

The recalled blanket is beige, carries the barcode 5059340980560 and was made in China1. It was sold between November 2024 and December 20251. The Office for Product Safety and Standards lists it under electrical appliances and equipment, in the personal warming and massaging category1.

"Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately, unplug it from the mains and return it to their nearest B&Q store for a full refund."

Why it matters for households

Anyone who bought the Saturnia blanket at any point between November 2024 and December 2025 has one of the affected products, and the recall applies from 15 December 20251. The risk arises while the blanket is in use: an overheating controller could expose live parts or set fire to the blanket or nearby furniture1. The official advice is to stop using it immediately, unplug it from the mains and return it to the nearest B&Q store for a full refund1. Households can check whether an electrical product has been recalled using our guide on how to check if an electrical product has been recalled, and our pages on the electric blanket or heated throw and on electric blankets: safe use, checks and when to replace set out the general checks for these products. More general guidance sits in the home emergencies and heating and cooking sections.

What happens next

The recall is in force and refunds are available through B&Q stores, with customer services reachable on 0300 303 44821. No closing date for the recall has been reported.
